Short answer: you can buy a humanoid robot in the UK today, but not the kind that does your housework. The household humanoids you’ve seen in launch videos are either not sold here yet or not sold to the public at all.

What you can order now

Chinese maker Unitree sells small humanoids through UK resellers. They’re real, they ship and they’re priced in pounds, but they’re sold for education, research and demonstrations rather than chores. If you want a robot that actually helps around the house today, the most capable option is still a robot vacuum. The newest models have a small arm that can pick up socks and clutter before they clean.

The household humanoids everyone talks about

  • 1X NEO is the closest to a home humanoid you can pre-order, but 1X has only promised the US so far. It says other markets follow “from 2027” and hasn’t named the UK.
  • Tesla Optimus works inside Tesla’s own factories. There’s no pre-order, no price and no UK plan. Talk of consumer sales comes from Elon Musk’s own targets, not from a company commitment.
  • Figure 03 is in industrial use and in-house home trials. There’s no public price or home sales date.

Why the wait?

Two reasons come up again and again. Doing whole household tasks reliably in an unfamiliar home is still hard. And early home robots may rely on a remote human operator for some tasks, which raises fair privacy questions about a camera-equipped machine in your home.

What it means for you

Don’t put a humanoid in this year’s budget. If you’re a business looking at automation, the practical options today are task-specific machines and software, not general-purpose humanoids. We track each robot above every week, and you can ask for an email the day any of them changes.
