Starship’s six-wheeled pavement robots have been delivering in the UK since 2018, starting with Co-op in Milton Keynes. The company says they now serve parts of Leeds, Wakefield, Greater Manchester, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, plus university campuses. In the past year the service has moved beyond grocery runs onto the big takeaway apps. Uber Eats added Starship robots in Leeds in December 2025 and in Sheffield in March 2026. Just Eat signed a partnership in February 2026, starting in Sunderland, and began a pilot in North East Barnsley in April. In October it added Morrisons grocery deliveries from Cambourne in Cambridgeshire, its fourth Morrisons store after three Morrisons Daily shops in Sunderland and Milton Keynes. The robots carry a small load for up to about two miles and are unlocked by the customer on arrival. Whether you see one depends on your postcode and the app you use, so check it at checkout. Delivery fees are set by the ordering platform. Co-op’s robot service has historically charged around 99p to £1, and fees on Uber Eats and Just Eat vary. For small restaurants and convenience shops in covered areas, robots now arrive through the existing app partnership rather than a separate contract. Starship has not published a UK-wide expansion schedule. From October it also has company: Deliveroo is bringing Coco Robotics’ pavement robots to London, Leeds, Milton Keynes, Stockton on Tees and Nottingham.
